Destructive teardown of the frankly awful Casio TV30 black and white liquid crystal pocket television. But not before a final power up connected to an old video recorder.

I had this! It was my rv for watching letterman. Mine came with a fluorescent panel that clipped on top. You would watch in the mirror.

I have a Casio TV-21 liquid crystal pocket television ! I luv it ! Is there anyway to run a video signal to it ? It doesnโ€™t have an antenna like yours here & I believe it might be the generation version prior to yours ! Would luv to see if I could get some picture ! Thanks !

Why destroy it ? You could have just as easily done a teardown and then put it back together. True its a crap TV but they are collectable.

I got mine in 1986, so it came out way after the Sinclair Microvision. I still have mine along with the 1989 colour TV400.

I have one of those. Its really that awful. I woder why they even bothered with the mirror and all that stuff around. A standard reflective LCD screen might have done a much better job. Also I wonder if LCD screens degrade over time. I just can't believe that passive matrix displays were so bad but apparantly they were…

    I still have that!

Pocket TVs has been Clive Sinclair's dream since the 1960s. His CRT TV-80 came out in mid-80s, just as Casio and Citizen were really getting going with LCD pocket TVs. And there was Sony as well with Watchman, but that was CRT. Was another of example of Britain failing to compete with Japan

That TV is UHF only, which meant it was specifically for the UK. Ones sold in Ireland had a VHF tuner as well.
