Thanks for the education. Much more to learn. I just want to connect a solar panel to a old vehicle battery so I can plug-in perimeter LED yard lights.
You might want to research having different amp rated batteries in line together,

can i hooked up a 40ah battery to 55ah battery? both 12volts
It's funny that you have nice weather and 5° c (41°f) and I have to wait till winter to do anything because it is 47°c (116°f) outside and I don't want to die. It's winter now and I am scrambling to get as much outside work done, before summer gets here.
APC UPS batteries? Didnt think they would be any good any more TBH.

Nice video, i have three 12v 7AH /20HR Lead acid UPS batteries and i want to use it on a DoPower 1500 Watt inverter and 130Watt solar panel to power my laptop under the scorching African sun. do you have idea if this will work without any problem ?

If those are AGM batts you can put them inside the house so it wont rain on them and so they wont get cold in the winter or hot in the summer. I have my AGM batts in the house.
