A quick roundup of single AA LED torches. Featuring Fenix and LED Lenser models. All these flashlights have the necessary circuitry to boost the 1.2 volts from the battery to the 3 or 4 volts needed to light the LED.

iv had the L7 for so many years now, the battery holder has started to crack, but it has never unexpectedly failed on me when i needed it most. Great company with great torches, just ordered myself a P7.2, cant wait! LED lenser is by far my most favourite torch brand! I love them so much.
my favourite torches are Maglite and LED lenser. a bit of petrolium jelly fixes the squeaking nicely. i have a LED lenser p3 and l7 along with a 3d maglite, aa maglite and an aaa maglite. i upgraded my aa maglite to a led and now it produces 140 lumens.ย
Does anybody know if these torches have overdischarge protection? How deep can you safely discharge an AA Eneloop cell? The data sheets say: 1 Volt is cutoff voltage when dischaging. I don't know if this is just the cutoff in their test or if it is the overdischarge thresholt voltage…
what the difference between the ld15 xp-e and xp-g?
I'm a huge fan of Fenix! ย I have an L2D and an E12. They make a very nice an affordable light.
how long do they all last on high?

Very nice review. I think I'm going to get the Fenix E11. As I have an spare lithium AA. I got an Olight S35 and it runs on 3AA's which is quite resonable. I chose not to use Alkalines in it because they may leak, so instead I bought a blister pack of 4 Duracell Lithium's. So I always have a spare lithium AA which is quite a waste of money to use on a clock or a mouse that does not demand high power. Thank you for your information. Happy Holidays.ย
actually, I believe I'm incorrect, after a closer look I don't think the M5 is digitally regulated, only the Fenix Torches hold constant brightness. The M5 has 'Smart Light Technology' but as far as I can tell that's just LED Lensers name for the mode system the torch uses.
Great little comparison, however you forgot to mention that the two Fenix torches and the LED Lenser M5 are all digitally regulated but the other two torches are not. Do you find the M5 with a focused beam throws much further than the E11. I use the E11 at work but it isn't bright enough looking down aircraft engine Jet pipes when the sun is out, so I have to haul my Fenix LD20 around which is slightly big for my pockets. If the M5 is suitable I'll grab one of them to add to my collection.
