JLCPCB Prototype for $2(Any Color): https://jlcpcb.com
Some random stuff in this one - taking another look at OInK (One Instruction Komputer) - laying out a small PCB to aid breadboard power distribution - taking apart a PCB mounting wire connector.

What happened to this project?
Love your videos they are very inspirational
Hi Julian. Just a quick rant about LED bar graphs and SIL's.
Why are'nt single colour 8 LED versions available?
And why are there no 10 resistor SIL packets (11 pin)?
I've looked everywhere.
You've inspired me to something similar to OInK, but I'm designing a 10 bit interface to plug into my Spectrum+2, (just for a giggle), using the joystick ports to read from EPROMs.
Well Breadboards is used to connect components. And those hex display modules ARE components.
So you are ok. :-)= ๐ ๐
Where to buy this modules with hex decoder display?
@julian how do i contact you buddy?
Really basic concept I need someone to help me with. Julian mentioned he had a seperate circuit after the buffer with its own PSU: I assume current still flows even when the source and the ground are generated by different power supplies? If electrons flow to the ground of a different point, then there is no replenishment of electrons at the source: what's the consequence?
Hey Julian, I would love to get some of those vertical displays made, the binary to hex ones on pcb. Do you have the build file for them or a schematic we could use to make one ourselves?
Please do ramble on ๐
Wir sind die Roboter . Remember start ground points and breadboards are tricky to logic circuits , so add also 10uF ceramic caps on power rails .. or avoid tricky breadboards for this purpose… The project itself it is neat , looks like some kraftwerk show ๐
Julian !! Love the orange lever breadboard wire push terminals!! Where did you get those? I would love to get some !! Thanks for all of your great videos !!
I bought cheap breadboards! …no good news! JLCPCB and easyeda I cant say enough good things. I got my first boards from them a week ago and couldnt be happier.
You should look up Ben Eaters bread board computer ๐ its amazing but it much larger then yours covering 14 breadboards and also having a seperate 8 bit data bus. I've made one like his that works using a 10bit data bus. I'm building a second more complex one now utilizing more ram, a 74LS181 ALU, seperate address and data buses too. Just got 20 new breadboards ๐ Not a cheap hobby lol
You could have done a simple copper pour on the PCB, ground on bottom, power on top, done!
Those cheap breadboards are more trouble than they're worth. Push in one slightly oversize component or a lead at a bit of an angle and the interval spring clip bends and then it won't grip component leads properly. I've had so many circuits that are intermittent or just don't work. I bought a stack of boards from China and I've ended up throwing the lot. On the flip side I've some boards I've had for years I got from Rapid and are fine. False economy these cheap boards.
