    The fitting problem you describe is caused by you using it wrong. The connector is supposed to be raised 1 millimeter above the board. That is why the barb is 1.7mm below the "fat bit".

    You can make a perfectly flat solder joint with through-plated holes or vias by using a little flux in the hole and a minimal amount of solder, then leaving the iron on the pin for a second longer to get it to drain into the hole… You will lose some mechanical strength though.

    If you are concerned about RCA availability in the future then why don't you put 8pin DIL Sockets onto your mainboard?
    This would make the entire RCA board swappable so you would be easily able to swap to another connector in the future (Not just RCA either)!

I've asked BigClive, but had no luck…I was wondering if you would be interested in taking a RGB remote controlled bulb apart, with explanation of what is inside? I have four IRC RGB Light bulb's in my house and they have been excellent. They have many different colour modes, full and dim light settings and automatic gradient settings. I thought that taking one apart would be educational, but I don't want to take apart one of mine as I don't really know what I am doing! I hope this message finds you well and you may consider doing this on your channel. Not sure why BigClive refused, I even offered to buy the bulb for him…

    I can see using an adapter board as useful. It helps adapt to a specific connector without making board changes.

    The phono pin boards, and the main board phono pins, look like IC pins. Maybe use 2 circular pins instead of 2 rows of 4 pins. This is to avoid confusing the phono plug for an IC when looking at the main board. So, the main board also needs to be modified. I didn't see the previous video, so maybe there is a reason for the IC type layout.
