I love when you start soldering haha, more soldering in the future please!
After searching on Aliexpress for a decent crimper, I found a Weirli Tools no.: SN-2549. These are similair to the normal type except they have an extra smaller tooth thingy on the end which is perfect for the 2.5mm etc crimps. More satisfying to make your own than to buy pigtails!
@Julian Illett Sorry but didn't catch, so was this part of the Vocoder ? Was actually hoping you were going to do a SMD board. Also, I suppose that inexpensive ($50) flow/soldering station at ebay would be a problem for you possibly, because your shop doesn't have AC ?
Have to say I hate 4 band resistors
I think the crimper would be good to have, but there are also like a bazillion jst pigtails made already on eBay.
Hi julian, your voice is so much like steve allen from lbc radio, which is no bad thing by the way
Good soddering Mr. Ilett.
Where is the " Good morning ALL " ???😉😉
You put some of the film capacitors in to allow reading the values, which probably precludes orienting them to have their outer layer at a low impedance…
No it is so easy, none of this 10 to the power of rubbish, just say how many zeros.
I do tend to follow the technique of the lowest height components first, simply because when you have a board on a bench, it makes it far easier. I can then, in most cases hold the board flat on the bench and don’t have to worry about components falling out or getting soldered at funny angles.
Really well done!
Polarity of electrolytic caps used in AC applications (signal path), anyone know a good reference doc on that subject?
Super
Julian what PCB software do you use for layout?
