After 3 years, I just had to order some more, and hope manufacturing has improved, as the leds started failing. Some went dead, others blinking, and all much dimmer than new.
Still worth the price tho, and easy to replace.

Why did you not measure the current or power ?

Julian what current are you running these lights at please?

Did you check the voltage coming out of the power supply? For my under cabinet lights, I have run through three power supplies with the same LEDs. When the power supply goes, those are the kinds of symptoms I see.

I have several of these LED strips and aluminum tracks, they are quite well made.
The problem I always run into is to know how many strips I will need to provide the required brightness.
Is there a simple calculation that would enable me to determine if I need just one strip of LEDs or several.

I can't help but get the impression that you like damp electronics.

I got some stick-on 5 meter reels and stuck them on strips of scrap thin plywood. They're out of sight inside the front lips of the cabinets, and illuminate the whole countertop. PWM dimmer with dimly illuminated switch. I use a recycled power supply and run the wires through the plumbing wall from the cellar. The whole setup cost me about ten bucks.

In the line of criticising other's work…. 🙂 – Nice job on the patio roofing, should be a good area to work in. HOWEVER, looks like the framing is from untreated pine. Painting it before putting on the roofing would have been a good idea. Wet pine doesn't last long before it starts to rot. Ah, that feels better, got my know-it-all comment out of the way.
Keep up the good work with the videos Julian, I always look forward to seeing them.

What do you prefer? New York Area street lights or New Work Area strip lights? 🤣

I've had similar cheap 5050 neutral white strips for more than 5 years, the only issue I had is that the traces are really thin and any string more than 2 meters long will get consireably warmer at the beginning, much less than the recommended 5 meters.

I see you have a toasted sandwich maker, what is your favourite filling?
Mine is beef, cheese and tomato.
