Made good use of the African plume to head outside and build a brand new breadboard for my Muppet 2 project. Thought I'd have another go at explaining what Muppet 2 is and what it will do.

whats the specs. of the Induct? Wire size & the "T" core number.
A note for the P Channel MOSFET.
You should use the pairing P channel MOSFET: IRFZ24n.
You can also get the logic level one which is: IRLZ24n
(Just change the 'F' with 'L', same for IRFZ44n)
Thanks.
Prithul.
but body diodes of mosfets suck. you should add a schottky across the fets
I still think this is the wrong core material for power applications. Why not save yourself a lot of headaches with a saturating and otherwise misbehaving core, by getting a proper powder toroid core used in switchmode power applications? Even a simple yellow core from a PC power supply's secondary side would be better than this green one…
washers on the spinning side of the post knob will prevent the spinning of the terminals
Nice one! One thought though is that I would be putting black lines where the banana sockets join.
Absolutely love that your getting back to this. Was the programming issue ever worked out somewhat ? I wonder what that guy in the Philippines has been able to accomplish ?
Absolutely love the MUPPET2 project. And the interesting options of transferring energy that it has. So I am quite excited to see every advancing step that happens.
The obvious application for a bidirectional converter like this is to add regenerative braking to your electric bicycle assuming you still have it and it hasn't rusted away yet. That would increase the range for a given battery size. The neat thing about bicycle power supplies is that the more power you use the faster they go and the more cooling air you get over the heatsinks.
can you use the LTC3780 for MPPT? I bought one just because I think it is a very neat design.
so exactly the topology of the high power hobby chargers and dischargers that have regenerative discharge capability.
Hello Julian, it will be awesome if you share full schematic for MPPT controller also arduino code implemented in version 1 of MUPPET
I really would like to build MPPT sollar charge controll unit, but still I can't find useful code
Regards 🙂
Reduce the sybilance in your audio track. There is a high pitch sound with the s ,t
Those banana sockets used to be supplied with a small spigot on the side of the plastic, so that any tendency to rotate could be negated. That was about 40 years ago. Have they cheapened them by making the shafts cylindrical?
