Just a thought as it is only 11 months till xmas. I'm wondering if the IR receiver can be exchanged for a reed switch thus giving you the chance of going round your tree lighting the candles individually with a mag-match
why dont you just take a normal household sponge and cut it to size for your soldering iron? you can cut it so its not as wide so it'll fit just fine. plus im sure ebay has plenty of things that would work, no?
I love your sense of humour. I must be a nerd, I come here first while having Cuppa.
But Julian, when are you going to get a real job? I would think you'd want to make something of yourself. Look at your brother, he's got a job. (My Mum's actual words to me 40 years ago…didn't work tho : )
@Julian Ilett: A friend of mine bought some LED candles that look almost exactly like the ones you used. Fun part is, his LEDs have a build-in flicker function that is activated by turning on the candles, then pressing the power button, holding it for a second and then relasing it. However, the flickering looks nowhere as good as your LED mod does. Also, greetings from Germany 😉
crack the top off the flicker LED with some snips to send some of the light sideways, the problem is that it is focusing the light to the tip of the candle attachment instead out the sides like the original LED did. should look just as bright.
I think the video should of been titled "Christmas Tree Cordless Candles Flicker-Wreck " :/
There is nothing funnier than dry British humor and deliverer that holds his own laughter! Bloody well right!

Is the outro a track you laid down a few years ago?

Julian DON'T SING! just do your usual shit, you scared the hell outta me!
Is it actually dimmer, using less power while on, or does it only appear dimmer because of its diminished (not 100%) duty cycle?
