Excellent! I was thinking about xor gates recently (that's right, I don't have a life) and it occurred to me that an analog window-comparator could do the same thing. Simple voltage mixing of the two inputs to give an input to the comparator that is only in the window if one and only one input is high. Worse, perhaps, but it piqued my interest.
Well done, thanks Julien. I didn't know about the half adder thing. But next video can you show how to combine two 7400 series gates to make a black adder?
I loveย these logic videos because they're soย clearly explained. Two videosย on Shift Registers (PISO and SIPO) would be fun if you haven't already done so.
You got a Maximum Octopus 74HC595 board in 2014 to use with your Archer Narrator speech processor but I don't think you ever did anything with it.

Well done Julian! I watched that twice looking for faults… but no. New subscriber!
Nice one. Thanks Julian.
There is a way to make it without the chip.like minecraft
wish you could teach the electronics course at my college.. keep up the good work bud!

There are only 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't.
It would be nice if you built the whole gate using fundamental components (no IC) especially considering how easy some are to make compared to others.

Very clear explanation – Thanks!!!
I like your Videos, because they are very informative and easy to understand.Thank you very much for sharing our passion :)cheers

Bravo!
XOR = Either or, but not both the same. ๐
