Did you really glue the pin back? Most plastic glues I know stay too flexible, so the pin wouldn't have worked in its intended function anyway. That's why I mostly use dichloromethane to "weld" plastics. After it evaporates it's like a single piece of plastic again. If that doesn't work, you could always make the broken pin stick somehow until you drive a small screw in to spread the two prongs while the thing to be clipped on is already mounted.
It looks like there's a memory slot on the bottom of the circuit board. You will need to match the speed but it might be worth a second look. Thanks for sharing
thesedays, i wonder if all the guts could be replaced with an ESP8266 and 2x servos. Not sure about the camera tho, or if the ESP can do the image compression.
+Julian Llett I have a question not related to this video but couldn't find a way to contact you privately. It is regarding lithium ion batteries, I am wondering what safety precautions should I be taking when charging them with a variable power supply and not in a circuit designed for charging them such as cell phone batteries.. I know many of your other videos you talk about the protection that some batteries have, do they all have this? what does this circuit protect against? Over voltage and/or charging?
I would appriciate any information you have on this topic if you have time to respond. Thanks in advance and I enjoy your videos keep up the great work.
got a similiar one since 3 years now, 2 years indoor use, 1 year outdoor (not sealed, but protected from direct rain.) it still works like a new one. didnt expected that. cost new 30EUR
Reminds me of someone who took a laser printer apart to change or clean something inside. So many edges, pins and screws. We were sitting around placing bets on if he would be able to reassemble it. We laughed so hard while he was struggling but he was successfull in the end… will never forget.
Very well explained
What would you check if the camera suddenly doesn't power on?
They engineered the hel out of that.
Hi Julien, love the vids! do you have a patreon account? thanks
Try DCM for gluing.

That wifi card looks like the mini pcmcia ones you'd see in (oldish) laptops..my Thinkpad had a very similar wifi card.

Julian try to locate the serial interface, those camera's runs embedded Linux.
With a serial to ttl adapter. Maybe you can login to it.
