My full review of the ThruNite TN12 torch with news of the 9-week firefly mode endurance test, 30-minute underwater immersion test and beam comparison on a foggy night.

I have used maglite flashlights in the past, which are similarly equipped with o-rings. I was advised once that applying a little coating of petroleum jelly (vaseline) to the o-rings would help their waterproofing function.
I'm always dubious of products that seem to be marketed purely by sending them to hundreds of youtubers. However this looks great. Even if I am 4 years late 🙂
What do you think of the cool white, would you rather have received the neutral white?
now I don't know for sure for the u.k., but pretty much all western countries require a full disclosure when you're given compensation for a review (in other words and in the perspective of the law what you're doing here is advertising), also you'd be surprise how well people respond to honesty
Does the strobe function on these things bug the life out of anyone else – or is it just me? Admittedly it's not so bad on this one as you've gotta hold the button down, but I've got a Cree Q5 and you've got no choice but to cycle through the bloody strobe mode when changing brightness. Am I realistically ever gonna need this function? No. So why do I have to endure it everytime I wanna use my torch?
Julian, do you think it's possible / practically achievable to hack or somehow engineer the strobe function out of a torch?
Wondered if any one has used the Luxor flashlight on the PLX Devices website. Supposed to have a digital beam focus.
I am curious about the electronics behind the LED. And what can be used instead of batteries that can provide light or power, and does not deplete in time, something you can always rely on, without preparation.
It's amazing how much light you can get from 1 LED and a single 18650 these days. I know the XM-L2 U2 is one of the highest spec LEDs you can get for ~1k Lumen output at over 110lm/W.
Can you recommend a slim led touch that takes just one 18650 call?
Informative and entertaining review as usual. I hope ThruNite sent you the torch for review, in part, following my recommendation of your channel in August!
I must say "thruNite" is a brilliant name for a torch
