My computer monitor has been playing up recently. It was taking numerous attempts pushing the ON switch before the display would come on. The ON LED was also flickering.
Electronic components are generally very reliable, with one well-known exception - electrolytic capacitors, particularly if they get hot.
Bought a kit of capacitors on eBay and replaced all that showed signs of overheating, drying out or rupturing.
Monitor fixed.

I was hoping to see exactly how to replace a capacitor from start to finish. This video was not helpful for a first-timer with no experience. The video jumps to the new capacitor being in place, all soldered in. Seeing how to thread the new capacitor into place and how to solder it would have been helpful.
Typical CapXon caps, it looks like the new ones were ChangX, they are just as bad.
I had got never before used fresh old DVD recorder .Cyberchrome,It was taking a while for it to warm up ,It Finley did .so I opened it up to see the problems, 4cpapcitors were swollen, one with rust coming out,The back pair were 6.3 volts at 2200uf, 105 Celsius The front pair were 3300 uf 6.3 volts 105 Celsius ,from Jen p.c both were odd height ,the back pair was 32 mm ,The diameter was 10mm. Lead space 5mm,the front was 26mm ,height ,diameters 10 millimeters at 5mm lead space. When i pull them out for measuring that when the power source went off,the problem is tha they don't make odd heights any more,It seems tha mos 6.3 goes only to 20mm heights,Would this be a good substitute for the 26mm and the 32mm height ,since it still 2200uf and 33 00uf.The lead space would fit too,If not them I lost 130 buck and I'll have to throw it away. Not one place has 32 at 6.3 volt at either uf
great video i though you were not going to show you soldering but you did so thumbs up
This is the same repair used on LCD tvs when the same fault occurs.
