What's inside an 8kW 12V diesel air heater? I decided to take one apart. There's really only one moving part - a 12V DC motor with two fans (or impellers) on its shaft.

Great dissassembly guide. Thank You!!! 😊😎
Always useful to see what's inside things, thanks.
Hi, Julian so when the dc motor goes wrong how do you take the fans off the shaft to repair the motor? I don't think you can as the fans are force-fitted to the motor shafts? This puts me off purchasing but the rest looks ok
What an excellent video, particularly as I had never seen the inside of one of these before!
This is such a simple system, and as you say, with only one moving part, it should be quite reliable.
Thank you for this video strip down. Subscribed.
I've seen this type of heater in gas, but not diesel. Is it stinky? Noisy? Did it continue to work for the duration of time that has passed now?
What happens if power is unexpectedly lost, and fails to go true a cool down…. FIRE??
You are a MORON Mr.
VW Diesel….
I would build a custom air filter and place the pwm controller in the box then pipe fresh air to heater, I would put heater in metal box so it could be mounted permanently in a cabinet. Extend wires to pwm . This will stop dragging noise, and keep pwm cool in fresh air flow.
It's not a 8kw it's a 5kw it's a con.
Are these safe to use in your house like in the basement?
I wonder if it would run on waste vegetable oil or motor oil. Probably depends on the fuel sending unit.
