All these power integrity issues .. the contacts on these types of wireless breadboards are pretty poor to begin with, nevermind if you have actually used them more than a few times.

Now I know why a lot of early computers had multi-phase clocks.
Also FYI – it's not the buffer that interprets high-impedance as low (or high), the actual voltage on the bus was low (or high). You should add pulldowns or pullups if you want that.

The "first" instruction? Didn't you decide already that it would only have one instruction (move can be Turing complete, like in x86)?

I know the 373/374 were originally designed for ring counters hence the pin-outs but does anyone know why the 244 was designed like that?
