My favourite appliance energy monitor shows instantaneous Watts and accumulated kiloWatt hours (kWh) on the display at the same time

I just want to know how to make the cost show
I hve got that Energenie ENER007 Energy Saving Power Meter Socket from Screwfix and it is crap, the display is so dim that is very hard to read, it is the worst Meter I ever had, very hard to read also because the letters and numbers in the display look out of focus because the screen shield in made of think cheap plastic. It looks ok in this video but really you have to try to understand how cheap this Power Meter has been built.
Excuse this layman's question Julian. I have this energenie. It's a European model. I'm using it in South Africa. They sell here adapters that have no earth component. I'm unable to get a reading. Just zeroes. Might this be because there is no earth. Its baffling me
Thank you. How do you zero the counters on that energy monitor?
bad product from china the neutral was found arcing after 24hrs used.
And 7 years later, Big Clive does a tear down of the green button'ed monitor.
One video per item needed. The mixing of details (unless one has all 7) is confusing.
Is the energenie bi-directional by any chance?
Did you ever do a teardown of these? wondering if the Chinese ones are safe or not, the one on the bottom left looks very common on various sites but with no brand.
Geez mate you've been churning out videos for long enough to afford a tripod. I'm trying to watch this and camera roams around all over the place. It's makes me feel rather ill, so how about anchoring the camera in some way, I honestly thought you were more professional than having your videos look as if it's being made by a 12 year old YT newbie. Thanks Julian.
Hi there, I got this exact one from HomeBase on sale for ยฃ3, but instructions missing.. any chance you could just do a quick vid/tut of exactly how to enter the cost for the Kwph for hear UK and then show cost for item plugged in – I'd be really glad to see exactly what is costing me WATT.. Thanks if you could,or explain.. Nice vid by the way..
Do they work correctly on reactive loads?
Great video! Can You make comparison and teardown of them?
Hi I am trying to work out the amount of Watts used to plan a solar power system. I see this shows "Max Watts" but surely I already know the maximum from looking at the plug on my appliance. Is this the wrong thing for me?
hi
i had similar device (the one with blue buttons and two lines accros screen when powered off ) and it burnt after some time . i am uploading its video.. it seems the only thing burnt is a resistor . can you show me a picture of its inside so that i can see the resistor so that i can repair mine ?
thanks
