I hve got that Energenie ENER007 Energy Saving Power Meter Socket from Screwfix and it is crap, the display is so dim that is very hard to read, it is the worst Meter I ever had, very hard to read also because the letters and numbers in the display look out of focus because the screen shield in made of think cheap plastic. It looks ok in this video but really you have to try to understand how cheap this Power Meter has been built.

Excuse this layman's question Julian. I have this energenie. It's a European model. I'm using it in South Africa. They sell here adapters that have no earth component. I'm unable to get a reading. Just zeroes. Might this be because there is no earth. Its baffling me

Thank you. How do you zero the counters on that energy monitor?

One video per item needed. The mixing of details (unless one has all 7) is confusing.

Is the energenie bi-directional by any chance?

Did you ever do a teardown of these? wondering if the Chinese ones are safe or not, the one on the bottom left looks very common on various sites but with no brand.

Geez mate you've been churning out videos for long enough to afford a tripod. I'm trying to watch this and camera roams around all over the place. It's makes me feel rather ill, so how about anchoring the camera in some way, I honestly thought you were more professional than having your videos look as if it's being made by a 12 year old YT newbie. Thanks Julian.

Hi I am trying to work out the amount of Watts used to plan a solar power system. I see this shows "Max Watts" but surely I already know the maximum from looking at the plug on my appliance. Is this the wrong thing for me?
