The blue LEDs on my cheap battery powered Christmas tree light go out long before the other colours. Why?
I'm using rechargeable batteries which have a lower nominal voltage than alkalines. It doesn't take long for the combined voltage of 2 AA cells to drop below the forward voltage of the blue LEDs (which is a fair bit higher than red, yellow or green).
Naturally, these batteries are being recharged using solar power!

i had this problem with a orniment to the blue ones stopt working same problem ๐
Well, the set of lights only cost a couple of quid – I was just intrigued by the fact that the blue light only stayed on for a few minutes – the other colours lasting for hours.
Did you think of using a small booster circuit so the batteries and then the blue LED's lasted longer?
