The Jackery Explorer 240 charges at about 70W from the SolarSaga 100 solar panel. Use a boost converter to increase the power to 80W.

I brought this buck conv Renogy 100w panel to Jackery 500 and it does not work how do I test the buck conv

Have you ever tried using a mirror to reflect more sunlight onto the panels? Presumably this would let you meet (or even exceed?) the rated power on the panels, or at least compensate for cloud cover.

Does it actually measure power or an analogue of power?

So what did it do,increase the amp's

Was that thing designed and built near the equator?
If so, that might explain the mismatch with converter and panels.

This is a really cool find. Thank you Julian

Guess you're saying that the Jackery doesn't have an MPPT controller built in.

ive just brought that I have the Jackery and am trying to get 3 kw would that work from Jackery 500 to 12 v 3 kw inverter

Crazy to put a PCB on grassy ground like that. The ground has a crazy amount of moisture evaporation when in full sunlight, all you have to do to see it is leave a piece of tupperware on it for a few minutes.

    April 1st.. really..

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Stephen Hind says:

The question is, therefore, why doesn't the Explorer 240 not doing this itself to get the most out of its own panels?

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Defpom's Electronics Repair says:

@Julian Ilett What is the solar panel voltage when the boost converter is turned on? I bet it is allowing the panal voltage to increase to closer to where is PMax rating is, as that is likely closer to 34V at a guess.

    What is this jackery?
