It's the end of summer and I'm out in the garden playing with solar panels, solar charge controllers and a car battery. I've made up some modified crocodile clips with 4mm banana sockets attached. This means two PWM5 solar charge controllers can be connected in parallel to build a more powerful solar power system. In this video I have two panels, a 100W panel and an 80W panel. The PWM5 Solar Charge Controller is available on my website 256.co.uk and the modified croc clips will be on the website soon.
So is it always set up positive to positive negative to negative for charging?
I have a 80watt and a 100watt panels but one controller is pwm and other is not pwm. Do you think it's a good idea to do exactly the same thing from the video but only with one pwm controller and one constant controller?
I can connect two panels in parallel and connect it to the pwm controller input but I'm afraid it's going destroy panels.
