This GU10 LED spot light is cheap (£3 including postage) and bright. But it's also lethal! There's a 50% chance of putting live mains within a few microns of the metal casing (which is what you'll be holding when you insert it) and there's no earth to protect you. It's like playing Russian Roulette with 240v AC mains. This sort of thing gives new technology a bad name. Avoid it if you want to stay alive.

Reminds me of the "Pineapple" LEDs from around this era where if you touched the outward solder you'd blow your hand off.
be poor -> get electrocuted
Stick to halogen
Your 240v mains has either a fuse or a circuit breaker to stop you from getting electrocuted from products such as these
from what i heard all good these amps are very low need to be concerned more with higher amps , in a bad position you could get hurt
Shocking!
Supper!!!
Here in Holland we do not have "live"and "neutral" like that….It is interchangeable at the pluglevel….we can put in plugs any way we want….But it alternates anyway….hence AC
7 years later, youtube, let's recommend this video now
There is the polypropylene film capacitor on the other line in series 😉 and that is why Julian has not drawn us the actual circuit on paper?
British Safety Standards would have a field day…this should NOT be allowed to be sold… Thanks for the heads up, even though I don't use any so called green energy bulbs.. I'd rather use candles 😁
Good info though.
Well don't be stupid and handle a live bulb. I always de-energize before putiing my hands a live AC device.
You get what you pay for!
Don't expect quality, safety including shipping for 3 quid!
Clip that metal with AC bulb to prove.
Just curious. If you cut out the intermediary circuitry, would this be work from a 12V battery and would it be bright enough for a camper. Obviously with the lower voltages and DC, it would be much safer im thinking?
So long story short it is all bullshit…
Go away with your fakenews.
