try it with a lot less gel, too much i think is the issue.
All you need now is a lid and a method to make SMD ends. Then you're off to modern electronics and wonders of reflow oven!
Why did you get the gels and not something simpler (in the sense that you know what's the active ingredient) like phosphoric acid (rust remover, coke)?
Julian, congrats with your working cap. You could demonstrate its real life workings by making a small breadboard-circuit showing a LED smoothly dimming out due to your homemade capacitor.
I don't get it. What's the point? Supercapacitors start at 1 farad. 64uF is nothing. You need 15,000 times the surface area.
