I have a similar light with the same form-factor, but the 4 18650s are all in parallel. It has 6 Cree XML-T6 emitters, and the claim was for 6000 lumens output (Securitying brand). I can't swear to that, but it is very bright. The modes are the same, except it doesn't have the "firefly mode." I've had it for about a year, and it still works perfectly. I got it from AliExpress for about $35, but the batteries weren't included.
Hate those different states of light outputs and complex way of turning it on. In an emergency you just want to turn the blasted thing on!
Do you spend lots of time in the dark, Julian?
damn thats some expensive flashlight for 3x xml l2 u2,
@northwales1000 some of us need flood :/
Ohh and moonlight mode is very useful!
Looks like a confusing UI but I like my Thrunite torches almost as much as I like Olight! Can't wait for AA lights to put out massive lumens. My perfect torch would be AA, lots of flood rather than throw (cannot see far) and perhaps has its own onboard battery charger.
Julian is the only person that pulls off the plastic film off a display…… he is the only one that reads the manual…. and maybe drinks the most unpopular soda drink…….. LoL
Hi Julian,
Can you hook it up to your solar system, and see the amp-draw? It seems to run on 12 to 13.6 Volts easily. It will have one of those 95 to 96% DC2DC converters in it.
Besides that idea,I don't like to have such a torch. They are perhaps good for fireman, and other professionals.
I previously bought the TN12(2014) thanks to you. They should pay you commission 🙂
The MINI TN30 looks rather neat, and I think it'll do nicely filling the place of those old 12V torches.
It kind of made me laugh at first at the thought of an manual for a torch!! but I guess if you are paying upwards of $100 for such an item I guess you would need a manual. I remember paying just over a pound at Woolworths for a torch INCLUDING a number 8 battery. Ahhh those were the days, no manual supplied however. Did get a paper bag!
