Snow on my solar panel is blocking the light so the battery isn't charging properly. No point messing about with a scraper, better to use this Ryobi cordless leaf blower, does the job in seconds.

Ever heard of a tool called a broom? You wasted 2 day charge solar energy for the blower ๐
Now this man is thinking.
Would that method remove snow from a medium size bird feeding table? Or will it blow away the nuts?
Damn, Julian! That made short work of it, didn't it?! Genius!
A broom works…
Just hook it up to the battery, but the wrong way (provided there's still juice in the battery), so the panel should heat up, right?
can we find a way to make it automatic, say on a 2 floor on a house.
I made it by myself. Just go to Inplix webpage if you'd like do the same
'Doesn't make sense to use electricity to save electricity… We've got here over a food of snow on our panels and I find the traditional snow rake more economical and it also removes the ice sheet under the snow! A chance to get some exercise too for my upper body!
You just blow some blue plastic top of the battery.
Very good Julian. Now you can make an automated arduino-based snow blower that automatically and periodically cleans your solar panels! ๐
I have not seen snow for a long time and I'm in Scotland.
In Australia, snow covering my solar panels isn't really that big of an issue, I have actually had cheap plastic solar panels melt in the sun though………..ย
You should cover the batterie terminals, the water from rain and snow can short out the batterie, because the batterie has a very high amperage
If you are somewhere with a lot of dust, water cooling during the hottest part of the day has the added benefit of removing any that has landed on the panels.
That's a brill idea. Not only might it scatter the light onto the panel and keep IR out. Keeping IR out lengthens the life of the panel. Wicked. Do you know a source? Would love to try it. Well done.
