As a fellow frugal-er I have a computer shopping tip for you. Here in the states anyway, businesses regularly sell nice used computers for cheap thru Craigslist. For example nifty items like Lenovo T4xx and Dell e64xx laptops do not sell for much because there is so much supply. You can buy a 3 year old computer which benchmarks like a new department store model, but loaded with nice features, for a fraction of the cost of a new bare-bones one. Same for desktop models, you just have to research where the supply and demand is most out of balance in the used market to pick up a sweet machine for very little money. Does anyone have a desktop model suggestion? It'll probably be a model marketed to businesses. I just saved you more than a large Patreon donation. May I be considered an honorary Patreon patron? Julian, I wish I had a way to get it to you! I have a pretty new PC or laptop I would like to donate to you but do not have the extra money to ship it (From US). I have friends that live very near to you and will see if they have one for you.

I would try raspberry pi3 for live streaming it is certainly capable; better than renewing you pc
do those synthetic household sponges work okay – i thought they would burn too easily unless very wet.
If you've got a smartphone, it might be able to stream your face better than your PC can.

Maybe you should setup the Raspberry Pi for streaming. I'm pretty sure it could do a better job.
