If you’re looking to replace your 1A consuming CCTV camera, the IP ones all over ebay based on the OV9712 sensor & HI3518 SOC seem OK.
They output H.264, you can open the stream with VLC. The software they come with is trashy. I use mine with Zoneminder.
The cameras I have each consume 110mA @ 12V with the IR illumination off.

You should put the amorphous panels to charge the car battery (since you don't use it so often) and use the other 80W panel to make 260W worth of power.

Vaseline (petroleum based) or a silicone based grease, which is recommended?

hi julian, have you tried wind power.. yes its more expensive to set up and probably wont give you much power but its a good fun challange setting up.. I just set up mine in UK and have a similar voltage mismatch going on from the turbine to the batteries., some times I have the blades spinning their 8oow motor to the point where they are blurred and still dont produce power as their rotation is still not fast enough. Much of the time I have power at lowervolts than the battery which I lose. So, I though about putting a car audio amp cap (1F) on the input before the batts.. would that help you think?

Shouldn't you use a silicone based lubricant on the o rings? Vaseline is petroleum based and so will destroy the rubber rings over time.

Setting lead acid batteries on the ground like that is VERY bad for them…
Either way very very cool setup!
