Nice, it is like telling people how to eat soup with a fork… When spoons are a common thing…

You totally over thought this problem. What I use are syringes, with plungers. Squeeze the paste into a new syringe, using a object, then put the plunger into the syringe.

I guess air is too compressible

Try a foot pump made for bicycle tires/tyres.

Aww, was hoping to see one of those hand held blood pressure pump balloon deals used as the pump. I'd imagine it might work quite well. Oh well, very cool nonetheless.

I used yellow Tygon tube to my syringe tip and dipped the plunger seal in soapy water so plunger springs back and pressure drops instantly, no over-dispensement.

Find a huge syringe like 35ml=cc. they are locally sold for flavor or glue injection.I got 50psi easy, but keep tubing displacement to a minimum. Make a wood or jar-lid jig to so you can step on the naturally air sprung syringe plunger vertical on the floor.

They'll penetrate. You just have to push harder.

    Julian, thats a complete Fail

    So…. a pic and a peristalic pump won't work?

Why use paste when even the smallest SMD components can be soldered with an Iron? I only use paste for re-balling (I'm talking even microsoldering under a microscope). If you want some tips on microsoldering check out Louis Rossmann. Anyone using paste without a stencil is nuts

What I would do, is scrape all of the solder goo out of the tube, and mix it thoroughly with a tablespoon full of olive oil, and then put it back in the tube. Higher and higher pressure is not the answer, a lower viscosity solder paste fluid is the answer to forcing it through the tiny nozzle.

What about warming the paste slightly? In a cup of warm water perhaps?

    Peristaltic pump?
