In today's post is a tiny Programmable Waveform Generator module based on the Analog Devices AD9833
This is what I bought:
AD9833 Programmable Microprocessors Sine Square Wave DDS Signal Generator Module http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/-/381214316569
Here's the AD9833 datasheet:

Wouldn’t a slower clock give you worse resolution? I’m not understanding how going from 25mhz down to only 1mhz increases resolution? It’s usually the other way.

Can the AD9833 be tuned to 1 frequency without programming?

  3. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars USMAN HAIDER says:

    can we change amplitude?

  4. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars blargg says:

You want a music chip that lets you change amplitude, at the very least. Most will have multiple channels. This chip is for communications. You'll also need a low-pass filter.

Julian do you get ripped off a lot by the Chinese sellers on Ebay?  Like you I used to order a lot of gadgets that were cheap on Ebay and never had many problems until recently but lately it's all been going down hill.  Even though Ebay has a lot of hype about having a Money Back Guarantee I found out it's all nonsense and it you don't get the item there is nobody to contact about getting a refund!
I ordered 10 LEDs that were an item called:
"10Pcs DC 9-12V 10W Cool White High Power 800-900LM SMD LED Lamp Flood Light Chip" for $7.61 and $4.00 shipping from a seller called Happydeer88, item # 390876125031 on April 24, 2015.
The item was delivered on May 2 but it only included ONE Led, not 10 as described in the auction.
I know sending only part of the shipment is a common ploy of scammers.  When I contact them about sending the rest of my order they always say the same thing, that it was shipped but there is never any tracking number.

    Dear customer,
We have sent the rest goods out to you on May 8th, now it’s on the way shipping, you know this is oversea shipping, usually it needs about 2-5 weeks can be arrival, could you please give more patience to wait?
    Best regards
    Lucy

There doesn't seem to be any Ebay customer service option available to
address this problem, no way to contact anyone or get a refund!  It
says to select "Item Not As Described" but then the remedy is to return
the item. However it then says it's been too late and there are no
other options or ways to contact customer service!

If I select "Item Not Received" it takes me to a page to check the package tracking
with no other options there either.  If you order several items and
they only ship one you seem to be out of luck with no options.
I'm not sure if Ebay is actually this stupid or they are in on the scam!

I think all Ebay's hype about "Shop on ebay with complete confidence, eBay is here for you" is nothing but a fraud since there doesn't seem to be any way to get any sort of help for this problem.
    Do you have any suggestions?

Sorry but have to say, Hate the new thumbnails. Also am started to get bored with your videos. We seem to of lost your original ethic of buying cheap parts from china and showcasing and demonstrating.  Enjoyed the Banggood Scope (as I have been looking at it) but seem to be missing the good old postbag and moved onto projects that only interest a very select group.

Why not just use a DAC straight from the arduino, do you think this sounds better?
