can i use 3.3 volts here?

Hi Julian. Watched a video of a DIY MP3, bluetooth, speaker build. The B0505S was used between the power switch and the bluethoot module. Can't figure out why. Do you have any idea why a B0505S would be used in this application? Cheers

not reading all 260+ comments to see if this has been said… it cant be just a transformer with a cap… its dc to dc. it must be a smps. EDIT: datasheet shows switching freq.

Recently purchased one of those DC-DC modules (B05058-W). Saw it used in "portable mini speaker" build, but don't know what it's function would be in a mini speaker set. Do you have any idea? Thank you so much for the thorough reviews. Cheers m8

Great stuff Julian! I need your help in fixing a powertool battery pack. 18.5v output x 5 cells 18650. The charger module is dead. What would you recommend as replacement board. Thanks & Regards. Sham.

Those isolated converters came to my attention recently when I viewed a video of a fellow who had used three of them to give himself the ability to charge a 4S lithium pack. They do get rather warm, he said, when pushed to full output. And, 200mA is not much, but if you do a little searching they are available with somewhat higher current outputs.

Deep thought came up with 42, the tedious@EC says 297. To read the lcd or not to read..What is the question?

Julian, lay a piece of ribbon across the hole before putting the battery in. It pulls the battery out quite easily without the screwdriver marks. If you have one holder you use all the time, swapping batteries right and left, take a dremel to the holddown arms and shorten them to give it less hold. I do my own daily Chiwanese postbag openings, and your lists often end up as my own. Like Christmas every day, FOR A BUCK!

"Thank You", thank you very much… I buy electronic grab bags, but I'd like to know, how to identify an electronic part, when NO nomenclature is available, or part number is visible 😐

No julian, it is for humidity control when storing your cigars. If the air is too dry, the cigars will dry out, if it's too humid, they will get moldy.
