You don't have a mains cable with clips on the other end?
Uh, why should it be safe? Because it’s isolated from ground?
The G9 socket is mainly used for small halogen capsules. You can get ceiling fixtures and lamps that take these lamps because they're compact, easy to install and because the holders are normally ceramic, they're very well insulated and you can't stick your fingers in the socket, to they're also quite childproof.
Not sure if it is known, that you cannot simply switch the old light bulb of a fridge to a modern LED type. The reason is, that old fridges, especially if they are the combination type ones, with a frost section, use the light bulb to heat the normal fridge compartment, while (deep-) frosting the other part. The reason ist, that they only have one cooling system. Modern fridges have separate valve controlled cooling areas, so they do not ice your salad and cheese, even you install an LED as a light. In fact, real modern fridges already have LED installed as light.
That yellow light, makes my eyes hurt!
These bulbs are used in chandeliers. Good LEDs for these don't really exist – Main problem being they are not dimmable
Re. the fridge lamp: Fitted a Osram/Ledvance 2.5W 200lm E14/SES pygmy lamp in the one here and it's a huge improvement. There's one in the sewing machine too.
CPC (cpc.co.uk) do them under LP10039 for daylight or LP10040 for warm white and always have them in one or more of their discount flyers. The latest one has them for £2.80+VAT under LP1003902 & LP1004002 and delivery's free for web orders over £5 before VAT.
Happy new year Julian
I'm interested in G9 led bulbs since I have a fixture that uses them. I once bought led bulbs for it but they flicker with mains frequency which I do notice and find very distracting. I would like to know if this design gives a steady light output. The G9 form factor doesn't have much space for smoothing cap.
You can get "LED filament" G9 bulbs, which look much less ugly than this monstrosity.
From where you got that inverter?
