    I found one these in tesco oct 23. The board design has changed it now has a TC2185 LDO that powers both the cob and drives the motor.

    Im guessing the surge caused by the motor must of been an issue and why they replaced it.

    Strangely it also had the motor speak battery and leds on separate molex conectors.

    and if that wasnt enough it came with some tesco alkaline batteries. Not bad for 8 quid.

    It seems that the LEDs are synchronized to the actual voice. If so that is quite thorough.
