I found one these in tesco oct 23. The board design has changed it now has a TC2185 LDO that powers both the cob and drives the motor.
Im guessing the surge caused by the motor must of been an issue and why they replaced it.
Strangely it also had the motor speak battery and leds on separate molex conectors.
and if that wasnt enough it came with some tesco alkaline batteries. Not bad for 8 quid.

It seems that the LEDs are synchronized to the actual voice. If so that is quite thorough.

I've never seen this version of this before, and this one is also high-pitched. I think they are made by Sunstar.

could you use the arduino to both steal the audio, and then reproduce it? using its digital connections?

I love that door bell, glad you found it. I have a question I hope you can answer for me, I got a kit that had a 555 micro chip in it, being so very small it wasn't hard to lose were car I get another one, I really hope you can help me to find a replacement.
For Christ sake, watch your videos before you put them out. You didn't clue in to adjust audio levels??!! I didn't even use headphones and it got annoyingly loud.
