    Nobody seems to admit that these blue resisters are impossible to read in many cases. I never had any problems with the beige ones. It was silver or gold for tolerance and the other end started the code. Now you can't tell red from brown, brown from black or blue from green because of the instability of the colors they use, and the color of the background. Somebody complain out loud, I won't see it as whining. What's the use of having a simple code if you have to check everything with a multi-meter? And why doesn't google know multimeter is a single word?

    I can't figure out why on earth that transistor's base goes solely to ground. Has the reason behind that been explained in a previous video? My best guess is that it might be something to do with achieving a forward voltage drop or something.

    I usually place all components first, move them around in order to minimize jumpers and wiring…then next up i begin the soldering job….Your aproach iss a little confusing, as you solder when you´re not sure where the other next components will fit, or beeing placed….

    And go buy yourself a decent soldering iron, i just can´t barely stand that you using this crappy thing….

    sorry, but, please get an inexpensive soldering station. temp controlled. $35 or so. you will have much better luck.

    That's a great soldering iron if you need to solder something out in the forest … otherwise it really does seem to be rubbish.

    Why not just use standard 5% resistors? A project from the 80's almost certainly isn't going to need 1% resistors, and to be honest, many of the 1% Chinese resistors measure well out of tolerance anyway – just a thought.

    I love the long rambling update. It's comforting to see eletronics built over time. Too many videos focus on instant 5 minute projects.
