what is that soldering iron? it looks nice
The sound is remarkably good for such a simple circuit !
What spoke with did you use for the ground plane? It's such a shame they don't have a more reasonable default setting for that.
Walkthroughs for cheap sound modules? Exactly what I was looking for! Subscribed!!!
That Phil Collins reference had me howling. Do iiiit!
I need one

I got my JLCPCB boardsย in the mail today. Almost ready to build! Need to get some 3080 op amps first.
Wow! Great to see this old project again. I still have the original copy of E&MM magazine (Electronics & Music Maker) that featured this project. Back then I didn't have the ability to make my own PCBs, so I built the thing on standard stripboard instead. Great project that I had a ton of fun with back in the day.
It was one of a series of related projects (There was a "Synchime", "Synwave" and "Synclap" as well iirc)
I eventually wrote a BASIC program to use these as a programmable drum machine on a Sinclair ZX81, using a multi-channel I/O board from a Maplin kit
Good times…
If you actually had a working project that might help your place in the competition.
Julian, you seem to have great success with PCB's, what program to you recommend to create designs to send to JLC?
Thanks.. Mike.
That crooked Julian Ilett on your flashlight still sets off my OCD after all this time.
Dear Sir,
I appreciate the knowledge and what you do is simply beautiful! But here we are many beginners. I'm 65, and I started to cink and learn. I made vu meters, but yours is perfect. A drawing and a few words about where i'm going to tie it. A lot of people work nicely, but if you're going to ask me something, you need more data. If speaker in the input how many watts do you need or how many did you have ? I like the foresign as a sign because the strength is constant. I hunt for drawings, but there's a lot of failure.
Hey uncle!
I live in the UK and am a massive electronics fan (I'm studying electronic engineering at university). I was wondering if you'd like to collaborate together. I have loads of electronics bits and pieces; mainly from AliExpress. Please let me know what you think, it would be loads of fun!
These sound effects will end up in multiple meme compilations.
Brace yourselves!
Thermal relief is essential on copper plane connections, good that they have added that for Easyeda.
I have always had more advanced PCB CAD, and even back in red/blue tape days or before on Inked layout drawings have always used thermal reliefs.
Wow! That's awesome. Thank you so much people. Now over 1,100 likes and hot on the heels of arch rival Great Scott. Remember – The Top 8 win money and some of their lucky fans will get special gifts ๐
