Who said the 555 can do anything? Probably nobody.

I've been scrolling through your videos to see if there was ever any progress on this? 😀

Any chance I could get the schematic you are using for this particular instance? This could make for an interesting television pattern generator.

This is funny, as I was thinking of a TTL monostable as a possible solution while watching the last video… 🙂 One thing about the '123, I was building an interface back around 1978 or so and was advised by an engineer that that chip is not as stable as using two '121 chips. Whether this will turn out to be a problem in your application I can't say.

Have you done any videos including a raspberry pi

    That's a pretty good project!

But, But, But??? Where's the Microcontroller? What are those funny white things you're turning by hand with what looks suspiciously like a sawn off knitting needle? Where's the circuit diagram? Don't keep us in suspense.

Wondering how you'll handle things like collision detection, not to mention score keeping…

    Yaaaaaay.

Are you going to use another 555 or so for controlling a vertical span, and do something further to move around a square?

I really appreciate this. Nowadays for even blinking a LED they come around with this damned Atmel 328 Arduino thinggies. Not that they are bad in any sense… but at the end it's just programming and no skills required. Reverting to good old analogue signals is pure fun and requires much more thinking than 1 and 0 on a port pin.

Steve Wosniak was the one who made Breakout with just 45 Chips… genius
