A look inside the PowerOak PS5B power bank. Contains around 32 to 36 Samsung 18650 cells, a 300W inverter and a 120W MPPT solar charge controller.

Thanks for the tear down I bought mine second hand to run my brass monkey fridge works well usb ports 2 were broken as its was on a board to difficult for me to fix
So I replaced 12v cig socket with quick charge 3 socket then relocated 12v cig socket to the back of eb50 by piggy backing connection
Works great as fridge plugged in the back leaves front all clear for use.
I'm trying to fix my PS5B anderson connector (solar input connector). This connector has fused and is unusable. I have to replace it. Thanks for your video that allowed me to look inside the box. However, the said anderson connector is hidden behind the jumpstarter connector. And I wonder if the later (jumpstarter) is not glued to the device because I cannot see how to undo it. Any idea or video about this problem ? Thanks in advance.
Hi there, i am thinking of buying one of these to put in a small camper, running mostly a fridge, some lights, charging electronics (phone, headset, macbook, camera, etc) and a couple other things but not much and intend on having a 100w flexible solar panel and have it connected to the ligher socket in the van but i think i would need more battery capacity, was thinking of making another pack of batteries and connect it to the unit but what do you recon its the best way to do it and if you agree with my idea, what would be the best way to wire it to the unit?
Thanks
Looool, the battery lokks like "selfmade"….haha…i cant believe
Can you please consider posting on another video platform? The in video ads really annoy me
Hi Julian, if you plan do build a USB power bank, I would recommend the TPS2544 for the USB port charge control. It is a really neat IC that supports several charging protocols. I should mention that if you don't use an IC like the one I mentioned, your phone may charge slowly or not charge at all, depending on the make and/or model.
Pop the plastic covers with a knife or spudger, NOT a drill you animal!
My will not charge by solar or mains any ideas
The singular connector on the black wire is probably the negative Charge-Input to the BMS. Some BMS have separate connections for Charge & Discharge to provide better protection while simultanerously charging and discharging the pack.
I have the urge to charge one up, then EOL it by throwing it into a large body of salt water. Hmmm. 😈
Ads at the beginning and then two advert interruptions during. I'm not watching if this is how it's going. It's YouTube killing YouTube policy I know – but it's unwatchable.
Long term project sounds very interesting
Nice tear down and look inside, but we're still waiting on a tear down and fault finding session on your Kaput Diesel Heater you know 😉
Is it pure sine wave?
Why drill holes ?? Is more simple try to put out the covers with a small screwdriver…..
