How would you set a TM1638 from the box to act as a counter? First 4 digit as a tally counter from 0000-9999 and the following 4 digit a different set of tally counter from 0000-9999. Both sides would need a plus 1 and a minus 1 buttons to be set-up. Would love to know step by step and the equipment used for this! Are you able to help out?
Thank you. I'm am trying to build a motion telemetry read out display using the nano.ย This video gave me some new insight. Could I ask you for an explanation of using the 1638 library here or privately.ย Again great work thanks!
Thank you for the Video, I picked up one of these a few months ago and never managed to get past the data-sheet.ย Do you plan on continuing this? Maybe with more detail on how to access the buttons?
Enjoying your videos Julian, you've rekindled my interest in electronics, currently playing around with stuff like this, but with my shiny-new Pi 2 and Python. If I was pedantic, I'd say 0 to 32767 is 32,768 values, but I won't. ๐
I wonder if you can save an I/O pin and just tie the strobe line low
What's the actual aim of this device? Still can't imagine any project where I would use it….
Really smart series making sense of bad manuals and explaining it all in the friendly logical Julian way ๐
I was hoping to find a follow-up video where you actually read the data from the buttons to detect which ones were depressed..
Where can we find some Arduino sketch examples to try out?
thanks for the video. Its working and it was very helpful : )
Gotta love Chingrish data sheets!
And what about the push buttons ? can we change the pins from output to input in the code ?
Thanks for the excellent videos btw.
very cool multiplexing check, I do that too ๐

This looks like fun, I might need to purchase myself an Arduino!
