Part of 'Building a Solar Charge Controller' at http://www.256.co.uk.

The final packaging phase requires that the controller is weatherproof, in fact waterproof, but still lets light from the LED out. The circuit board has been encapsulated in clear heat shrink sleeving and sealed with hot glue.

you should try encapsulating it in epoxy

    Just a suggestion:

    1. the small unit with the heatsink should be faced the other way
    2. the heatsink tab should be bent upward

then when you shrink wrap the unit, cut away an exposed area of the heatsink and rebend it against the wrap (it'll be like an S or U shape). This will allow it to not over heat. (although it looks like a small CC, so overheating is probably not a problem, but just a suggestion anyway).
