What's happening with the PWM5 Solar Charge Controller?
A new version called the PWM5 ThruHole is in the design stage and there's a new PCB for the Femto.

How do you make use of the battery power in the house while the battery is charging from the solar panels? When I try with a cheap solar panel battery charger, it gets all arsey and the voltage drops presumably because the controller is trying to push current one way into the battery whilst the battery (in parallel) is trying to push current the other way through the load. You might deduse from the question, I habve no idea what I'm doing.

Why not have the wires all leaving the board in the same direction and then point that end downwards? This would discourage the corrosion, I would think…

++ Deoxit to clean it and conformal coating or potting to weather seal it. I've found that using certain hot glue directly on electronic components will tend to cause corrosion right away, like in a few weeks. Definitely conformal coat but I like to use deoxit as well to clean things off. If you want it to last even longer then use solid core wire instead of stranded wire to prevent moisture from wicking its way around the weather proofing…

where i can find again the mppt?

Great to see this project coming back. The solar charge controller is why I first found your channel. I was wondering if you could base (a/this) version on a arduino ?

Hi julian, I wonder if you could make use of one of the gel junction boxes to seal all the wires and pcb?

Instead of calibration routines why not switch to the 12F1822 that has an FVR?

??? Do you have the Code posted Publicly ? I would like to see if I have what it takes to program one. Or maybe end migrate functions to a DIP28 mega328P-PU MCATU IC Chip . I have a hand full of them unemployed.

Iinstead of hot glue, you could use silicone (acid free off course)

Great ! So enjoyed these when covered before. Do wonder about a voltage ref. Yes commercially makes no sense as software routines always cheaper in number. Do wonder about making it a dev. board style for ongowing 'playing'
