It's only pronounced sodder if you also think missile is pronounced missal; hostile is pronounced hostel and mobile is pronounced mobil. Not entirely their fault though, I blame the academics who standardised English spelling.

The "L" in solder is most definitely silent.
Hearing the awful British pronunciation 'sollldear' is a form of torture.
It's is disgrace when they call their chaps in the army 'sodders'. I'm sure they are not. It does happen in all armies but to brand the whole lot sodders is a tad 'orf' don't you think.

Potato Tomato who cares… I most certainly don't speak the Queens English, but I could frankly care less how you pronounce solder. Nobody else should either. There's far too much value in your videos for anyone to be such a pedantic tit about how you speak.
