There's a video about a modification to the MingHe BST400 which appears to speed up it's voltage rise time. I thought I'd give it a try.
EDIT: I accused the BST400 of having an unstable output at the maximum output voltage (80V). I got that wrong. Checking with a DVM, I found the filament LED to be faulty - not the boost converter.

hey . . . is it possible to upgrade this to output 150vdc?

    Great Video!
I bought the same converter on AliExpress… but my current limit does not work and resistor R4 and R5 (on the left) are not mounted…maybe thatยดs the problem? Do you know, or can you measure these two values please?

This video is quite old. Does anybody know if the BST 400 has been updated /improved?

Do you have a link for the mm adapter or a name for this adapter?

    hey,
may i have bst400 please? it's for a project where I'm working on, but my budget is low because after a few I mistakes i made there were some things broke and I had to replace it. can you do this please? I would appreciate it.

My unit is telling me 95% efficiency. I'm reading 75% with my multimeter. Can you confirm?

I have a 900 watt version that has a fan for the heat sink. It has the same flaw as others that are lower output. If you set the voltage below 0.06 it ramps up over it's limit of 80 volts. The one I have doesn't power up slowly. The power jumps up to the set limit as soon as you push the button. So at least on the 900 watt version they have fixed the slow ramp, but I was a bit shocked when I set the voltage to 0.05 volts and hit the button as it went right to 80 volts and started a fast climb from there. Now it doesn't really matter as this is a boost converter and you should never set it below the supply voltage. If you want one that outputs full power instantly then get the 900 watt MingHe BST900. It is a nice little boost converter.

Fast mode works with my unit. But id draws lot of current when it starts up.

I just went on line to EBay and looked at the specs for at least 8 of this model converter. All of them say the output voltage is 8-80 volts. Not even good as a 5 volt supply for projects if 8 volts is the minimum. No wonder it goes crazy when you set it to 0.5 volts. Maybe they changed the specs since you purchased yours ??
