thank you for your work ! goog job.
CST118S…I thought that sounded familiar. Burnt a cheap Chinese Sunfounder 55g servo about a week ago and opened it up to see what broke. An 8 pin IC on the control board had burnt a hole in it and I could see the die under the lid. Looked up the number, and it was CST118S. Looked for an hour to find a source for it, but all I got were shady websites from Chinese suppliers, none of which I could buy from without requesting a quote. Dug through my bin of scrap boards to see if I could salvage the chip from something, but nothing had that IC.
Guess I'll have to look for a broken toothbrush lmao
Now I can die in Peace 😆 … I saw how an sonic motor will look like… I'm satisfied
You know..I couldn't even afford an electric toothbrush 😂
Teardown? Is this a teardown, boring
I think that the spring below is designed to absorb any vibration that woulf be felt when pushing against the toothbrush part when brushing, as a result eliminating the potential rattling against the edge inside the unit
Was kinda hoping you would show the value of the battery.
Wouldn't that be called a "Radial Flip-Flop Multi-vibrator"?
36 thumbs up to reach 555. (The Timer Chip). Julian! Give a prize to the fan that reaches 555. Maybe a Julian Ilett torch? 🙂
(I am Thumbs up #519).
I'm curious as if it's possible to play music on that motor. Hook it to a stereo.
Thanks for the tear down.
I never understood why people use electric toothbrushes. I never felt like they did a good enough job just having it sit there on my teeth, so I'd still have to move it around in a brushing motion. And you can only remove so much plaque from your teeth before you start eroding your gums down to nothing. So what's the point? Marketing wank, I'd wager.
Normally companies won't let you tear things down that are for review items i could be wrong on that Julian ilett can you correct me on that ?
I love the companies that allow you to take it to bits. It shows they're confident their product is not shadily constructed.
