Here's something you can do. Connect two large solar panels to one battery. The combined power of the two panels would exceed the current handling capability of a single controller (100 Watts), so here we use 2 controllers connected together at the battery end to handle up to 200 Watts. The result... a perfectly and rapidly charged battery. See more at www.256.co.uk

Can we connect two batteries to one controller?

Hi.ย  i have a 500AH lithium battery i want to charge from two sources while in use.. a 100 Watt 12v solar panel and my cars 12v cigarette port that is only on while the car is running.ย  What's the best way to wire this and what do I need?

  3. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars BareFootDuck says:

How does that prove that both controllers are charging?

    every battery need 10% charging current …..200 ah *12 volt = 2400 watt . charging curent need 10 % same 240 watt . can use doule charge controler 10 ah * 2 = 20 ah = 240 watt

Hello! I can connect diferent two solar panells with two charge controllers. (First pannel is gs-50 amorphous crystal 50.w) (second is monocrystalline panel 135w) and system work on 24.volts

what about my 10w and 5w solar panel can be used single controller only, it is ok

Can you connect two solar panels into one charge controller (the standard controllers you find online) even though these controllers have one + and – could you not just put 4 wires from the solar panels into these inlets? Would it not just treat it as one solar panel? Maybe this would be too powerful on a sunny day but what about over winter – would it work?

sir i want to connect two solar pannels of 150watt with a 12 volt battery. is this harmful or not

This doesn't show that they are both working. Each panel has the capacity of charging at that voltage (as long as they are for 12 volt charging). If you were to unplug one panel you wouldn't show a difference in volts.ย

You would have to drain your battery down to 50 to 70% and then put and amp meter on the cable (close to the battery) to show how many amps hours are going into the battery. Each panel should have a max amp output and you can find if they are both working by amperage readings.ย

It's likely that they aren't working together.

This is what happens when they cannot communicate to one another. The first solar charge controller to read the battery and give the battery a charge from the solar panel wins (to say the least). It will kick out a charging voltage at whatever amps the panel can produce. The secondary solar charge controller will read the charge voltage (13 to 14.7 is charging) and consider the battery as full and shut off.ย

Charge controllers don't communicate unless they can be connected.ย

I have a 80w solar panel with a charge controller and a 140 watts solar panel with a charge controller, can I use both to charge my battery? Thanks.

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Julian Ilett says:

Yes, you can parallel them to make 60W in total. The PWM5 controller can handle up to 100W so no problem there.

I don't sell on eBay anymore, but it is available on my website.

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Julian Ilett says:

No problem if the combined power is under 100W – two controllers required if over 100W.

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Julian Ilett says:

    They're just connected in parallel

@mrmolez I wish batteries were that simple. You can cook a battery with too much amperage which is what you charge with, not voltage. Your charge voltage just has to be higher than what you are charging. Hook your battery up to a 100A 14V source and you won't have a face anymore.

I think he's saying This to drum up business so he sells more controllers

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars helloman1976 says:

Why would you say that this cannot be done with other charge controllers? I've never seen a charge controller that you couldn't do this with as they all detect the same voltage and turn off at the same time. What I would worry about is putting too much amperage back into the batteries at once between multiple chargers. If they had temp sensors it wouldn't matter as they'd regulate themselves. Just curious why you said that…
