This Christmas lighting set was reduced from £45 to £15 in Wilko. How does it work? Can it be run from a battery? Is it worth £45?

It would be cool if you shone it on the ceiling

My idiot neighbour has bought one of these, so now I know where he got it from. It is actually more awful than you might imagine

Blatant rip-off but a nice effect. My neighbours have one with the green and red laser diodes – I think this one looks nicer though

I have the same power meter except it is unbranded and 120/60Hz

At ASDA, the snowman projector was reduced to £5, and the multicoloured reindeer projector has been reduced to £10.

Hi, Julian, did you measure the DC side of the power supply volts and current with the projector connected and running.
Did you measure the voltage across the motor and across the LEDs.
You proved that the power supply has built in current limit, but I cannot see where you measured the load current and voltage on the projector.
That supply is operating in constant voltage mode when connected to the projector, so the load must be less than 3.75W.
Why can't you use your LIPo with a fuse in line, say 250mA.
    Tom..

B&M Bargains are currently selling small battery-powered versions of this for £2.99 (I think Home Bargains have also got them for the same price or thereabouts). OK those are not waterproof and don't have high powered LEDs in them but even so, there is no way that thing is worth £15, much less £45 – If I was ordering one of these online, I would expect to get it for under a tenner. I know Wilko is pretty expensive these days, but 45 quid for that thing is seriously taking the P155 !

It's not even £5 worth of tat. Nor is it even remotely waterproof. Wilko can scam people with the best of them. The 'E' probably indicates 'England', for the U.K. plug.

I think it would be really cool to add three more colored LED’s to see how much better the display would become!  Shouldn’t be too hard what with the pads allready there for quick and easy access. Afther all it is only 15 quid.

45 Pounds?! What would you recon Alice'd charge for that? 3 Pounds?

    Dear sweet baby J that's expensive…

How about to change those LED's for white ones ?

They do give us nice power supplies, the clearance is massive in those!
